Previous post i talk about my project band. And now this one, is my BAND. Haha.
This band had gone some heavy shit since 2008. The up and down, the hiatus mode. Now thank God finally the band are back on track. I dont want to talk about the history of the band. I just want to share my words from the 1st EP the band had released.
Lets go back to 2010, DICKTRACY - “Post-Script from the Lovelorn”
I probably wont go track by track on this EP. Because i think in this EP, i wrote almost the same message on every song. It’s kinda personal for me. I’ve been through a lot before. My life are quite miserable, no cash, no jobs, no love and my future seems so bleak. But i try to think positive. I build my strength to survive, to live my own way, my own choice.
So here it goes, when i get in the band, i wrote the lyrics based on what i’ve experience before, well 5 out of 7 of the lyrics originally wrote by me. And the other 2 wrote by my former guitarist, Daryll.
Most of the songs in the EP are about how u deal with the situation, how u stay calm when u are in one of the lowest point in your life so far.
U were angry, u pissed, u felt like u’ve been hurt so deep and there is no cure. But when u think about it, it just plain stupid when u thought that its over. It’s not like the world gonna end. U still have your life. Always have options. Either u wanna cry for the rest of your life, or move on and be better. And if you’re a believer, and u have faith, u know He’s always there for you. Pray.
Well, that’s all i can say about the message in the EP.But too bad, now the band are not going to perform any songs from the EP due to “copyright” issue. I dont wanna go there, to explain because it’s gonna be a long post. Hehe.
