Previous post i talk about my project band. And now this one, is my BAND. Haha.
This band had gone some heavy shit since 2008. The up and down, the hiatus mode. Now thank God finally the band are back on track. I dont want to talk about the history of the band. I just want to share my words from the 1st EP the band had released.

Lets go back to 2010, DICKTRACY - “Post-Script from the Lovelorn”
I probably wont go track by track on this EP. Because i think in this EP, i wrote almost the same message on every song. It’s kinda personal for me. I’ve been through a lot before. My life are quite miserable, no cash, no jobs, no love and my future seems so bleak. But i try to think positive. I build my strength to survive, to live my own way, my own choice.
 
So here it goes, when i get in the band, i wrote the lyrics based on what i’ve experience before, well 5 out of 7 of the lyrics originally wrote by me. And the other 2 wrote by my former guitarist, Daryll.
Most of the songs in the EP are about how u deal with the situation, how u stay calm when u are in one of the lowest point in your life so far.

U were angry, u pissed, u felt like u’ve been hurt so deep and there is no cure. But when u think about it, it just plain stupid when u thought that its over. It’s not like the world gonna end. U still have your life. Always have options. Either u wanna cry for the rest of your life, or move on and be better. And if you’re a believer, and u have faith, u know He’s always there for you. Pray.

Well, that’s all i can say about the message in the EP.

But too bad, now the band are not going to perform any songs from the EP due to “copyright” issue. I dont wanna go there, to explain because it’s gonna be a long post. Hehe.

I supposed to post this shit on my blogspot. But its kinda gloomy there. So i thought to share it here.

This is my project band. A Southern Metal act from KL, Malaysia. I started this band around 2007. So if u guys wanna check about the history, i got the link on the bottom of this post.

As a vocalist & lyricist, i wish people could understand what i’m trying to say, and delivered through the songs. Yeah kinda hard with this kind of screaming/growling and stuff. But at list i did it with my own way to express my feelings, my thoughts.

And this goes to the people who would like to know about the message i sing to u guys. Not going to be super details, but at least u can capture what i’m trying to say.

Track - 01 - Across These Roads We’ll Survive.
Song about freedom of choice, how u can choose your life and live free.
It’s not gonna be easy when u choose to live free to see the world, but at least, it’s your choice and no regret. So go ahead.

Track - 02 - Your Mouth Your Gun.
Its about everything u hear and see around u are complete crap. People keep feeding bullshit into your life. Its like they say dont do this because it’s wrong but they’re doing things a lot worst compared to what u do.
If u talk too much, u’re wrong, if u shut your mouth, u still wrong.

Track - 03 - Spit for Satisfaction
This song is very old actually. Another song about bullshit crap story come out from human mouth. But this one dedicated to those pathetic bitch.

Track - 04 - The Sandstorm
This song is about trust in long distance relationship. Yeah kinda lovey dovey stuff. So what?

Track - 05 - Of Sweat and Sins
A song about someone who tried to find something to live for. Trying to get back the feeling he once had. But he felt he dont deserve it at all. Because he had done worst things in the past.

Track - 06 - Goodnight Mr Lonely
A lonely guy who tried to fill his life by partying all night long. Just to feel alive. And loneliness keep haunting him while his sober.

I’m not a good lyricist. Maybe a crappy one. My english also not very good. But i love what i do. And with bands i’ve scream for, i’m doing it because it is my passion. People hate it, people dont give a shit about it, not my problem. But i do appreciate to those who love and support it. That’s a bonus for me. Thanks!
